Four artists, Joby Hickey, Doreen Kennedy, Roseanne Lynch and Jean-Luc Morales, were shortlisted among 40 applications to exhibit for the 1st Alliance Française Photography Award Exhibition. The first photography prize was announced at the opening of the exhibition on by Claire Bourgeois, Director of the Alliance Française.
Roseanne Lynch was selected by the Gallery Committee as the winner of the 1st Alliance Française Photography Award as the panel found the work of Roseanne Lynch to be visually intriguing, formally dynamic and beautifully constructed.
She receives a return flights to Paris for a two-week stay in the Centre Culturel Irlandais, a €600 grant sponsored by Ireland Fund of France, a one-to-one professional tutorial on how to prepare raw RGB photographic image files for fine art lithographic printing sponsored by Vermillon Design and a French course at the Alliance Française Dublin prior to the trip.
The exhibition is still running at the Alliance Francaise until 11 May.
