On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the writer Henri Pourrat (1887-1959) the Alliance Française has the pleasure of inviting you to a conference organised in association with the Cultural Service of the Embassy of France and the French Department Trinity College.
After a short presentation by the President of the Society of Friends of Henri Pourrat, a film of about thirty minutes will allow you to become better acquainted with the author known for his Gaspard des montagnes which won him the Grand Prix du Roman de l’Académie Française in 1931. He was also awarded the Prix Goncourt some year later with Vent de Mars.
Pr David Parris will then present correspondence between Henri Pourrat and T.B. Rudmose Brown, holder of the Chair of French at Trinity between 1909 and 1942.
